Prime Minister Yang Represents President Biya in Equatorial Guinea

Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang on Saturday, October 12, 2013 represented President Paul Biya on the occasion of celebrations marking the 2013 edition of the National Independence Day of Equatorial Guinea

, a release from the Prime Minister’s Office disclosed.

The celebrations that took place in all major cities of the country witnessed the hallmark in the capital city, Malabo. Equatorial Guinea’s Press and Information Office, the government official website reported that President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo watched the military and popular parade, the climax of the celebrations in Malabo in the company of other Heads of State.  The  press organ singles out the presence of the transitional President of the Central African Republic, Michel Djotodia, President of Benin, Thomas Yayi  and Ali Bongo  Ondimba of Gabon.  President Paul Biya’s representative was among the foreign dignitaries who witnessed the event in Malabo.

Press reports further indicate that a number of world leaders sent messages of congratulations, progress and prosperity to President Obiang Nguema and people of Equatorial Guinea on the occasion of the National Independence Day celebration.  Equatorial Guinea became an independent State on October 12, 1968 with Francisco Macias Nguema as the first President.http://cameroon-tribune.cm
