More Turkish Investors Expected In Cameroon

The visiting Deputy Turkish Prime Minister, Bekir Bozdag, told the press after talks with Prime Minister Philemon Yang on Friday, November 8, 2013.

Cameroon’s long standing peace and stability on the African continent has gained the country fame regionally and internationally and the virtue has continued to bring a plus to the country’s economy by enticing more investors, visiting Turkish Deputy Prime Minister, Bekir Bozdag told reporters at the Star Building in Yaounde on November 8, 2013 after talks with Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang.  

He said how his government is continuously inviting Turkish investors to take advantage of Cameroon’s stability to have their businesses in the country. “Cameroon has enormous potentials, a model to other African countries and we seized the opportunity to present to the Prime Minister some success stories of some Turkish construction companies that have won a name back at home and in other countries through the execution of projects,” Bekir Bozdag said.

He explained that after the 2003 Joint Commission meeting between Cameroon and Turkey, it was high time they started lobby for such gatherings to remain regular. Discussions also centred on the domains of education and Turkey’s readiness to share experiences and expertise with Cameroon in a bid to spur growth in both countries.

Besides, Bekir Bozdag and Philemon Yang also took time off to evaluate and analyse relations between Ankara and Yaounde after the visit of Cameroon’s presidential couple to Turkey on March 25 to 28, 2013 whereby they had exchanges with President Abdullah Gül. Bekir Bozdag was accompanied to the Star Building by a strong delegation amongst who was the Turkish Ambassador to Cameroon, Ömer Faruk Dogan.
