The National Bureau President and section presidents in the South West are putting strategies in place.
As the date for the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Reunification of Cameroon is being awaited to be announced, preparations are reaching fever peak ahead of the grandiose historic event to be hosted in Buea, The youth wing of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (YCPDM) is actively preparing.
Converging on Buea, Wednesday November 27, 2013, in a preparatory meeting that brought together Section Presidents across the South West Region and the National Executive headed by its President, Stephen Motia Mbouda, the youth of the region were urged to turn out massively for the event and give the Head of State a warm welcome.
“The occasion that is coming to Buea is a very serious one and the youth need to come out. We are for mobilisation to see that thorough mobilisation is done in all the nocks and crannies of Cameroon. We have come to the region that is hosting the event to tell the Section Presidents to take certain dispositions in terms of mobilisation, transportation, lodging and entertainment seriously”, Motia told reporters.
The YCPDM Presidents’ conclave was also a platform for youth leaders of the party to present the state of preparedness at different levels and the difficulties encountered. Top among their worries were the deplorable state of roads in Kupe Muanenguba, Manyu, Ndian and Lebialem Divisions which they say may hamper on the massive participation as well as the lack of party uniforms by young supporters. He promised to take the issue of lack of party uniforms to the party’s hierarchy for them to be provided and share to Section Presidents ahead of the event.
