Soldier Attempts Beheading Gendarmerie Officer

A military officer whose names Cameroon Tribune got as Nguini Blaise, is presently under gendarmerie custody in Bamenda, capital of the North West Region, after attempting to behead Chief Warrant Officer, Fayson Dedemose, commander of the National Gendarmerie in Santa, North West Region.

According to eyewitness accounts, on Thursday, November 28, Chief Warrant Officer, Fayson Dedemose, was in his office at the National Gendarmerie in Santa when a military officer stormed his office demanding the issuance of a sales certificate for a motorbike. The gendarmerie officer is said to have demanded for the motorbike’s sale documents to enable him issue the sales certificate.

After questioning, he realised that the motorbike must have been stolen from somewhere. An argument ensued and the disgruntled military officer left the office, bought a cutlass and returned to chop off the head of the gendarmerie commander. During the struggle, Chief Warrant Officer Fayson Dedemose received a deep wound on his right arm. He is presently receiving treatment at the Catholic Medical Centre in Akum-Santa while the military officer is under custody in Bamenda.

Investigations have revealed that the 33-year old Nguini Blaise who committed the crime is an element of the 22nd Military Battalion in Mamfe. It is alleged that it was not the first time he was involved in the sale of a stolen motorbike.
