Christmas Celebration At State House School

http://cameroon-tribune.cmMrs Chantal Biya presided over the 2013 Christmas Tree lighting event on December 20.

Cameroon’s First Lady, Mrs. Chantal Biya, Matron of “Les Coccinelles” Primary School located at the premises of the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon, on Friday, December 20, joined kids of the school in dancing to mark the 2013 Christmas Tree lighting event.

One of the special rhythms for the traditional Christmas Tree event: “Bouge” by the boys’ band, X Maleya, took the matron of the school, Mrs Chantal Biya, off her chair as she joined the kids and the artistes on the dancing floor in synchronised and choreographic dancing styles that left parents and other dignitaries delighted.

When the “Bouge” smash hit came to its end, the First Lady could not resist the dancing style of the kids. She immediately stood up requested a replay of the sound. As if Mrs Biya and the kids had rehearsed the dancing style, they all moved their heads, hands and waists in a uniform manner while singing alongside the artist. Another popular artiste, Stanley Enow in his “Hein Père” smash thrilled guests at the ceremonial ground.

For over three hours, the kids in a joyful manner entertained their matron and parents in Christmas songs and sketches such as “Heureusement que Noël existe”, “Mon beau sapin” and “La Nativité” in which the kids presented the birth of Jesus. The kids, in a ballet, kept their parents and matron amused with the song of the season “Feliz Navidad.”

While the kids thanked their matron, Mrs Chantal Biya, for all the love and care she keeps showing towards them, they also lauded the moral support and encouragement from their parents and teachers. The Christmas feast was an opportunity for “Les Coccinelles” kids to pay homage to Nelson Mandela. In their own words, the kids said “Rest in Peace, Madiba.”

Several members of government and dignitaries joined the First Lady in handing Christmas gifts to the pupils. Old pupils of the school were also handed Christmas parcels. A common meal between the First Lady and the kids graced the event in which they wished “Merry Christmas” to one another.http://cameroon-tribune.cm
