Cameroonian Players Solicited

Some have changed clubs or have their contracts extended during the first transfer window of the year.

Cameroonian players are solicited this beginning of the year with the first transfer window opened by FIFA for transfers which began on January 1st and would end on January 31st at mid night. With the World cup just five months away, players without enough playtime are changing clubs so as to have enough visibility and catch the eye of Volker Finke to clinch a place in the squad to Brazil. This is the case with the vice captain of the Indomitable Lions, Eyong Enoh who has finally abandoned the Dutch side, Ajax of Amsterdam to join the Turkish club side, Antalyaspor. Earlier negotiation with the German club side, Eintracht of Frankfurt flopped and finally Eyong, who has not been regular with Ajax, will now have to play in Turkey.

Danny Nounkeu also left the leading club in turkey, Galatasary for 8th placed Kardemir Karabukspor also in search for enough playing time. Meanwhile Stephane Bahoken who recently joined Bastia from St-Mirren, Scotland, was ordered by the French football League to retun to Scotland. The reason advanced is that no player is allowed to play for three clubs in a season. The globe trotter, Frank Songo’o changed an umpteenth club moving from the United States to Greece to join Giannina.

While some are moving to new clubs, others like Nicolas Nkoulou who has been very regular with his club side, Marseille, extended his contract with the club by one more year despite proposals from the Italian club side, Naples. Idriss Carlos Kameni, tied of warming the bench in Malaga is in talks with Cardiff city to re-launch his professional career. Malaga needs 2.5 million euros (more than one billion CFA) to let go the Cameroonian.
