The thieves confessed to have masterminded six robbery attacks since early January 2014.

Nkwelle Kingsley Elime, 26, and John Fuabo Nufor, 27, are gnashing their teeth behind bars at the Buea Central Police station after elements of the Buea Judicial Police under the command of Senior Superintendent of Police, Jules Ngomedje, apprehended them on Thursday night and early Friday in Mutengene and Muea, respectively.

The duo were said to be members of the same gang that has been terrorising Buea denizens recently. They were allegedly involved in six different robbery attacks in different vicinities of the town since January 2014. One of the hoodlums, whose only name CT got as Manase is still at large while the search to apprehend him continues.

The bandits according to the Buea Judicial Police boss operated with locally-fabricated guns and were specialised in day-time robbery with five of the six attacks in Bakweri town, Federal Quarter, Malingo Street, Street two and Mutengene. The thieves in their operations carry away laptops, internet keys, cell phones, musical sets, money and other household equipment.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Jules Ngomedje, said when the Police stumped the residence of John Fuabo Nufor alias “Boy Njari”, they discovered five cartridges, two locally-fabricated guns, a nail bar amongst other weapons. The two armed bandits were shot on their legs in an attempt to escape from the Police dragnet.
