The wife of the outgoing Italian Ambassador to Cameroon was honoured during a special party as she leaves Cameroon.

In smiles, members of the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC) yesterday April 14, in Yaounde happily and gratefully made a toast to the health of Alexandra Zavala, wife of the outgoing Italian ambassador to Cameroon and that of her husband, for her contribution to the humanitarian activities of the outfit towards the vulnerable in society, as she leaves Cameroon after a spending four years full of eventful moments with the association.

Through the voice of the General Coordinator of CERAC, Linda Yang, the Founding President of CERAC, First Lady, Chantal Biya and other members of the association, expressed gratitude to their outgoing member for the physical energy she has shown in supporting the objective of the association which is actively delivering much-needed assistance to the most vulnerable groups of people.

While presiding at the event which was spiced with eating, dancing and cutting of a goodbye cake in honour of Alexandra Zavala, Linda Yang lauded the spirit of friendship that Zavala has exhibited towards other members in the group as well as her engagement through her presence in projects carried out by the diplomatic and national wings of CERAC in favour of children, women (particularly rural women) and the most vulnerable group of people in the society. Alexandra Zavala was handed a goodbye gift by Mrs Linda Yang on behalf of the First Lady.

Mrs Alexandra Zavala, on her part, did not hide her regret leaving the country and the set of dynamic ladies, who are always available, sympathetic and above all made her felt at home while in Cameroon. Alexandra Zavala was touched with the kind words towards her from the General Coordinator of CERAC, especially with the initiative of Mrs Chantal Biya to organise such a party in her honour. In singing, CERAC ladies said “we say goodbye to Alexandra, we say goodbye to Alexandra…”
