Last Homage For Former Bafoussam Government Delegate

This was during Samuel Mbou’s official burial in Bafoussam on April 19, 2014.

One-time Government Delegate to the Bafoussam City Council and former Director of the Mifi  Farmers’ Cooperative, CAPLAMI, 75-year old Samuel Mbou, who died last March 6, after a protracted illness, has been officially laid to rest in his Bafoussam residence.

The burial took place on April 19, 2014 in a funeral church service attended by a powerful delegation of the Central Committee of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) led by Senator Etame Massoma Siegfried David while the Senior Divisional Officer for Mifi division, Joseph Tangwa, represented the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation.

The funeral church service that took place at the Eglise Evangélique du Cameroon (EEC) Bafoussam, went on without the deceased’s remains because he had to be buried under very strict traditional rites for he was 3rd class chief in the Baleng chiefdom. In his homily, the chief celebrant, EEC’s National Moderator, Reverend Pastor Batome Henga, expressed the feeling that late Samuel Mbou’s prayers and love for God will enable him prepare himself to meet Christ.

On behalf of the family, the eldest son of the deceased, Kuichuie Alfred Mbou, recounted the life of his late father which was characterised by his care for others, especially his family, lamenting that his departure has created a big gap that will never be adjusted till the end of the world. He thanked the Government of Cameroon, the CPDM Central Committee and its Secretary General, Jean Nkuete who was present at the ceremony, for recognising the good work his father performed to advance Cameroon politics and economy.

Reacting, Hon. Wembe Samuel, CPDM Mifi bigwig, regretted that the death of Samuel Mbou was a big loss to the CPDM and the population of Mifi. He said Samuel Mbou contributed to the development of the town for over 30 years as Director of CAPLAMI and Government Delegate to Bafoussam City Council. Samuel Mbou leaves behind eight children and a large family to mourn him.
