Hon. Njong Evaristus, member of Parliament from the Boyo constituency recently has dropped curtains on Phase Two of a field trip to encourage the grassroot population to unite as the gateway to development. He went criss-crossing some villages of Fundong Sub-division with messages that inspire hope and encourage self-reliance development. It was against this backdrop that Hon. Njong Evaristus encouraged development initiatives with financial and material support towards local development.
At Atoini, Fujua, Alim, Abuh, Mbam villages, Hon. Njong Evaristus told the population about token cash means to support development in the 54 villages of Fundong Sub-division also known as Abassakom. Beneficiaries so far include, FCFA 300.000 for benches and pipes to the population of Fundong village, FCFA 300.000 to Atoini for their water project, FCFA 250.000 for zinc and nails for a school destroyed by wind at Fujua, FCFA 100.000 to empower Alim youths, FCFA 200.000 for the foundation of the Njuafeff manjong house, FCFA 500.000 for the Abuh Water project and FCFA 500.000 for the construction of a bridge in the Mbam area to ease transportation of crops from farms. In effect, the MP has FCFA 2.2 million from his parliamentary grants to support development in Abassakom.
The outing equally offered rare opportunity for the population to feature problems rocking their initiatives to emerge. At Abuh and Mbam, village development leaders raised the problems of electricity, lack of classrooms, portable water and poor roads that do not help matters for the local population.
