Bamenda inhabitants criticised the early exit of the Indomitable Lions, but showed understanding as usual.

Disappointment is the word message on most lips on the streets of Bamenda since the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon suffered a humiliating defeat against Croatia at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. It was not the best for the several fans of the team in Bamenda who found it difficult to recognise their team slum when least expected.

Supporters  carrying national colours on commercial motorcycles  paraded the streets ahead of the encounter but it was a silent night when the team showcased mediocrity and failed to rise to expectation at the crucial encounter whose results had to decide their way forward in the competition. It is now clear in the minds of supporters that it was a limping squad that went flying Cameroon’s Colours in Brazil. The team has been seen to be more courageous than competitive.

Forty eight hours after the encounter, it is evident that Bamenda accepted the defeat in fair play and it is life as usual on the streets, offices and homes. Metropolitan Bamenda looks forward to size up Cameroon’s next performance against Brazil. Inhabitants agree that it is all about the pride of the nation as they expect Cameroon to demonstrate greater commitment in their next outing.
