The spokesman, El Hadj Lawan Bako, urged the Bamenda Moslem community to expose Boko Haram threats.
“No to Boko Haram and its activities” is the message from Cameroon’s Presidential majority which encourages the Head of State, President Paul Biya, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to pursue Boko Haram until the nation is free from the threats of terrorism staring Cameroon on the face.
A June 17, 2014 release by the Presidential majority Spokesman, El Hadj Lawan Bako congratulates President Biya for successes registered in the war against Boko Haram activities in Cameroon. The release has warm words for the President whose decision to face Boko Haram is demonstrated in the recent “arrest of Boko Haram’s errand boy on his way to buy arms in Chad”.
It emerges from the release that political parties of the Presidential Majority stand solidly by President Biya who showcases wisdom in handling State affairs in the interest of peace, security and development. The message also reveals that the Spokesman of the Presidential Majority recently inspired the Moslem community in Bamenda to “condemn the devilish activities of Boko Haram.”
In effect, they were on the streets on June 6, 2014 in solidarity with Cameroon’s commitment to check trans-border terrorism. El Hadj Lawan Bako, himself, a faithful of the Bamenda Central mosque told Cameroon Tribune that he inspired leaders of the Moslem community in Bamenda to demonstrate their disapproval of terrorism. It was against this backdrop that after regular Friday prayers on June 6, 2014, Moslems were on the streets from their Old Town neighbourhood through the Bamenda Commercial Avenue with messages that encourage the Head of State to pursue measures that continue to give Cameroon a chance in peace, stability and progress.
According to El Hadj Lawan Bako,” threats posed by Boko Haram and terrorism in general can no more be restricted to Nigeria and political parties of the Presidential Majority cannot be indifferent to President Biya’s commitment to confront the evil”.
