They were examined in committee on July 2, 2014 and are expected to be adopted by the House.

The Minister of Transport, Prof Robert Nkili, yesterday July 2, 2014, answered questions from members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate. It was during the examination of two bills that were tabled in plenary from the National Assembly and forwarded to the Foreign Affairs Committee.  Transport Minister was assisted during the exercise by the Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum. The government bills were tabled in a plenary sitting on June 18, 2014.

It was a second reading of the bill to authorise the President of the Republic to ratify the agreement between the Kingdom of Spain and Cameroon on air transport signed on November 21, 2012, which aims at facilitating trade development between the two countries, notably the movement of goods and services.

It also aims at intensifying and diversifying trade, cultural and tourist cooperation. The agreement comprises 22 articles dealing with various aspects of cooperation to be maintained henceforth by both parties in the air transport sector. It contains special provisions regarding civil aviation safety and security as well as terms and conditions for designing and authorising companies providing air transport services. The agreement is supplemented by an appendix that defines air route tables for designated companies and a code-sharing clause, which helps to further open Cameroon.

The second bill was that authorizing the President of the Republic to ratify the agreement between Cameroon and the Republic of Congo on air transport, signed on December 20, 2012 in Yaounde, which seeks to liberalise the operation of air services and air transport safety and security between Congo and Cameroon.
