Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong was commissioned on June 28, 2014 in Mundemba.
The newly commissioned Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Ndian Division, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong, has been urged to be SDO for land and for sea. This was the firm instruction given by the Governor of the South West Region, Bernard Okalia Bilai during the commissioning ceremony on June 28, 2014, in Mundemba, following the SDO’s appointment by the June 4, 2014 decree.
The governor also called on the new SDO to wage war against both the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, and the maritime pirates who have become a threat to the nation. The SDO was also urged to equally handle, with firmness, the situation of illegal importation of ammunition, immigration and, above all, the general crime wave in the division.
According to the Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai, the maritime section is marred with unholy economic activities that have a negative impact on the people of the area, and so it must be stopped. Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong was equally challenged to crack down on unscrupulous contractors in the area who always abandon their contracts as well as ensure that all projects earmarked for the area are completed within the given deadline. Ndian Division, he pursued, has been noted as a paradise in Cameroon, reasons why the government has worked relentlessly to use all diplomatic ways to regain Bakassi.
Turning to the outgoing SDO, the Governor congratulated him for what he called “administrative firmness” during his tenure of office in the Division. He said Mr Babila Akaou will forever be remembered in the area as a man who fought crime wave in the border Division without compromising.
Earlier, the Mayor of Mundemba Council, Elizabeth Iselle, promised their total collaboration with the SDO to enable the latter accomplish his mission in Ndian Division. She also thanked the outgoing SDO for his devoted services to the people.
It should be noted that Ntou'ou Ndong was the former DO for Ebolowa 1 Sub division. Born in 1977 in the South Region, the new Ndian SDO earned a Diploma from ENAM Yaounde in 2006. He is married and a father of four.
