Vahid has quit as manager of the Algerian national soccer team.

The tactician took the Fennecs Foxes to the round of 16 for the first time in their World Cup history where they held down European giants Germany before eventually bowing out after extra-time.

He released a statement on the Algerian Federation website thanking the players, members of the technical, medical and administrative staff for assisting him through-out his stay at the helm of the national team. He is poised to take over Turkish elite club Trabzonspor.
