Preparations ahead of the 59th session of the Commission on the Status of Women to take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York, tentatively scheduled for 9-20 March 2015 are already afoot at the national and regional levels in different countries.
Prelude to the regional meeting to review progress made in Africa in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, 20 years after its adoption at the Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995, the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, (Minproff) yesterday, August, 26, in Yaounde launched activities aimed at consolidating the pre-national report for the implementation of Beijing Declaration as well as define a harmonised working plan ahead of the regional meeting come November this year in Addis Ababa.
