The political bureau of the party noted some confusion reigning in the electoral campaign that makes the population to believe that the party will run in the September 28 election. The confusion stems from the fact that the party has a rival faction called “l’UDR-Mwinda authentique”. The rival faction led by Stéphane Milongo whose pre-electoral campaign posters and information are put in different public arenas will run for the local election. L’UDR-Mwinda, officials say will not run for the local election for personal reasons, particularly linked to the organization of the popular election.
Despite the decision of UDR-Mwinda, pre-electoral activities continue to accelerate ahead of polling day. Other political parties have intensified campaigns.
