Deido Township Remembers Late Chief

A memorial service to pay homage to Majesty Essaka Ekwalla Deido held in Douala.

The Deido Township in the port city, over the weekend, paid homage to their fallen Paramount Chief, Deido Essaka Ekwalla Claude Emmanuel who ruled the township for 36 years.

In Eglise Nazareth Deido, a branch of Union des Eglises Baptistes du Cameroun, three Reverend Pastors, Samuel Muna Ngwassa, Paul Ekoule Maka and Frederic Ngaka Epounde, prayed for the repose of the late chief soul, who travelled to the world beyond in 2013.

They enjoined Christians to be focus and steadfast in God in order to guarantee a smooth journey at the end of time. They told the congregation that when one is in Christ, the love of God for that person is indestructible.

Around to pay homage to the chief were his successor, who is pending traditional enthronement, Majesty James Ekwalla Essaka, the Paramount Chiefs of the Akwa and Bodiman, Township, the Queen mothers of Bell and Bassa Townships and a handful of second and third class chiefs.
