Ambassador Sherif Salah Eldin Elleithy was at the Ministry of External Relations on Thursday.
For its role in receiving and caring for thousands of Central African Republic, CAR, refugees in the country, and seeking solutions to the conflict in that country, President Paul Biya has been commended by the Egyptian government.
Speaking yesterday, October 30, 2014, after meeting with the Minister of External Relations, Prof. Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo, the Egyptian Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Sherif Salah Eldin Elleithy, also condemned the attacks of Boko Haram on Cameroonian territory in the Far North Region. He expressed Egypt’s full support and appreciation for Cameroon’s measures to combat terrorism.
In the same light, Prof. Moukoko Mbonjo used the opportunity to condemn the killing on October 24, 2014, of 30 Egyptian soldiers by terrorists in the Sinai. The Ambassador announced that he came to discuss an invitation for some Cameroonian ministers to visit Egypt in the near future in order to reinforce cooperation between the two countries in areas such as politics, culture and the economy.
He noted with pride the presence in the country of the giant Egyptian construction company, Arab Contractors, as the flagship of Cameroonian-Egyptian cooperation. Cameroon and Egypt enjoy friendly relations, with plans underway to hold a joint commission meeting next year in Egypt.
