The outgoing Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Cameroon, His Excellency Wo Ruidi, has expressed satisfaction with his tour of duty that lasted just over two years. Speaking in Yaounde on Friday, November 28, 2014, after meeting the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang, the Ambassador lauded the completion of major infrastructure projects like the Kribi Deep Seaport in the South Region and the Douala Reference Hospital in Littoral Region.

He said other projects were underway while more are about to be studied by Cameroon and China. His Excellency Wo Ruidi said though he would have loved to stay on a bit longer, he was leaving the country without any regrets, especially following the recent release on October 11, 2014, of 10 Chinese hostages from Boko Haram captivity via the facilitation of President Paul Biya. Ambassador Wo Ruidi presented his Letters of Credence to President Paul Biya in December 2012, replacing Xue Jinwei.

Before his appointment to Cameroon, he was since 2009, Ambassador in the African Department in the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Cameroon was the third African country in which he served as ambassador. He leaves the country at a time relations between Cameroon and China are doing so well. Chinese companies are also involved in major infrastructure projects like the Lom-Pangar, Memve’ele and Mekin hydro-dam projects, as well as the Yaounde-Douala dual-carriage way.pm-receives-chinese-ambassador
