Councillors of Nkor Council in Noni Subdivision, Bui Division of the North West Region, met on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, in Nkor passed a budget of FCFA 412,755,000 for 2015.

The session chaired by Mayor Wache Francis, was presided over by the First Assistant Prefect for Bui, Dr. Mohamadou. Wache Francis explained that the budget showed a drop of FCFA 102 million or 19.8 per cent.

Out of the allocation, FCFA 230.7 million will go for capital investments like the construction of the Nkor Community Radio with assistance from PNDP, the building of markets in Djottin, Ngeptang, Bamti and Lassin, all in partnership with PNDP, amongst others. He attributed the drop in budget to available data on sources of revenue and also as part of a bid to be transparent and realistic. Mayor Wache added that FCFA 182,055,000 will be for operating costs.

He cited development projects realised with the 2014 budget to include the extension of the Council building to host the Municipal Treasury, construction of temporary bridges in Nchini and Djottin, creation of Noni Valley Athletics Club and maintenance of Lassin-Mbinon Road, amongst others. On his part, Dr. Mohadadou reminded the Mayor to hand over the former double cabin vehicle of the Council to the former Mayor who had paid FCFA 9 million for it. He called on councillors to explore all avenues to improve revenue collection. A workshop for councillors on decentralization also took place on the sidelines of the session.
