What innovations is Orange Cameroun showcasing at the ongoing Promote 2014?

Orange Cameroun is presenting a whole lot of all what innovation is all about. What is bridging the gap between technology and real life. In our stand, we are showcasing not only what journalists but also individuals can use. There is a possibility of using Wi-Fi of Orange with a drone, having a fire detector working on a smart phone, Orange My Plug 2 which is a device that can help in controlling electricity consumption at home. We also have our partners that are presenting the most recent and innovative cell phones, there is also Gameloft which gives customers the opportunity to use their mobiles to download games like fun time and use them on real life.

How helpful are these innovations to the daily life of man?

We are bridging the gap between technology and real life. Cameroonians today are mostly working and the fire detector for instance, can help you to handle fire incidences at home. This is because it sends you sms alerting you, let’s say, that there is a fire incidence in your house. Thanks to it, you can alert neigbours or firefighters to help put off the fire burning in your house.

We also have devices for controlling consumptions in terms of energy; you can either switch your TV on or off if you forgot. There is also the possibility of interacting with Orange directly without coming to Orange. This is through My Orange. With it, you can have services without coming to Orange. These really impact the life of each subscriber who is found in Cameroon, who is abroad or everywhere. We control, we help and we serve. That is our knowledge, which is what we want to push ahead for Orange and for our customers.

Out of the Promote village, where else can customers come in contact with these innovations?

Every product which we present is innovative and will soon be coming in a very near future. We need to prove to you that we are ready; we need to show you that we are just expecting what authorization can give us and we give to the customers and the entire Cameroon public everything they need. We are ready. Each and everyone can come to our agencies to have a showcase again. Once we have the authorization, we give it to you with all the offers that accompany it.

What was and is the overall goal of Orange Cameroun at Promote 2014?

We have an authorisation to work on 2 G network. We have been satisfying our customers with that. Our customers have experienced what 2 G is all about and we want to experience more with the new technology that is evolving like 3 G, 4 G and 5 G. We want them to experiment everything and use it and not just talking of technology but usage as well. We don’t want to tell you we need 3 G, 4 G or 5 G. We need what will satisfy customers.

How is Orange Cameroon faring at the business show (Promote)?

It has been quite hectic. It is busy for us. We know people are imagining a lot and we are satisfying their curiosity. We know and we ask others who are at home willing to come to do so and experience what we have. Each day for us is new. Today you have seen what you saw, tomorrow will be different.

What are your expectations from customers visiting or will be visiting your stand at Promote?

We first of want them to know that technology is not only for the abroad public, that it is also for us, that it is adapted to our situation and that technology is to help us be what we want to be, help us in our daily life. That is the main message we are putting across at Promote for customers to understand that technology is not only for others but for us all and it helps in development, it helps in our wellbeing and in our satisfaction and we want them to be part of it with Orange Cameroun. We call on customers to come verify, see and enjoy.
