Ebebiyin: “Small No Be Sick”

It is the smallest of the four stadiums hosting matches of the 2015 African Cup of Nations, yet an artistic jewel.

Of the four stadiums retained to host matches for the 30th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, the Ebebiyin stadium is the smallest in terms of capacity. It is a new stadium but too small with a capacity of 5000 seats. It is situated in the third ranked city in Equatorial Guinea in terms of population with about 30 000 people.

The city is located in the Far East of the country, near the borders of Cameroon and Gabon. It hosted the finals of the national cups for men and women in this year. In preparation for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, the entire edifice has been renovated and the green turf of the stadium also refurbished.

In the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, the stadium will host seven matches including the Zambia versus the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tunisia versus Cape Verde encounters on January 18th. On January 22nd, it will host two encounter again; Zambia versus Tunisia and Cape Verde versus D. R. Congo. On January 25th, it will host the Congo versus Burkina Faso encounter and the next day on January 26th, it will host the last group game between Cape Verde versus Zambia. Ebebiyin will equally host a quarter final match on January 31st.
