The Carthage Eagles will be gunning for the second Africa cup title in Equatorial Guinea.

Though Tunisia has been a regular visitor to the Africa Cup of Nations, they have been able to lift the trophy only once in 2004 when they hosted the tournament. The Carthage Eagles will therefore be gunning for their second continental trophy during the upcoming 30^th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations to take place in Equatorial Guinea. In order to achieve this objective, the coach of the Carthage Eagles, Georges Leekens, outlined a preparation programme which comprised three phases and some warm up matches to keep the players fit for competition.

The first phase of the preparation took place from December 22 to 30^th, working with a few expatriate players in Tunis. The second phase took place in Monastir and began on January 2^nd, with 26 shortlisted players, this time including local players. This phase of the training will be marked by a friendly match against the Fennecs of Algeria in Rades.

The Carthage Eagles will be travelling on 12 January to Libreville for the third round of preparation which will be marked by a friendly match against Mali, before flying the next day to Bata, Equatorial Guinea, their base while in Equatorial Guinea. The final list of 23 players to defend the national colours of Tunisia will be published on January 7, 2015.

The Tunisian squad is mainly made up of young players promoted from the Olympic squad as Belgian born Georges Leekens decided to give the youth a chance upon assuming office. The effort paid off as Tunisia, who have been present in every final round of the Africa Cup of Nations, qualified for the 2015 edition of the tournament on the fourth day of play of the qualifiers. Tunisia will be playing in group B alongside Cape Verde, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
