Police Entrance: 379 Apply In Douala Already

They submitted their files at the Regional Delegation of National Security on January 6, 2015.

Following the launching of competitive examinations into the Police Force by the Delegate General for National Security in December 2015, hundreds of candidates, since January 5th, have been thronging the Judicial Police headquarter in Bonanjo and the Regional Delegation of National Security for inquiries and submission of files.

The exams that will enable the recruitment of some 2,900 police constables, 760 police inspectors, 190 assistant superintendent of police, 75 superintendents of police, five medical doctors, five surgeons and three telecom engineers, among others, have seen the convergence of inhabitants of all four Divisions at the administrative headquarters, Bonanjo.

According to officials of the Littoral Regional Delegation of National Security, the online registration procedure is a wonderful but swift initiative. “It has solved the problem of overcrowding since candidates are received only on appointment. The delegation received 438 candidates on January 5 and 379 yesterday.

Telecommunication companies - Camtel, MTN and Orange - are helping to book appointments for the submission of candidates’ files through SMS and internet services. No complaint has so far been registered. For those who are yet to make up their minds the online registration website is www.dgsn.cm or www.dgsn-cm.org/concours2014,” one of the officials made known.

Candidates CT talked to lauded government’s change of the age limit from 24 to 27 for police constables, from 25 to 28 for police inspectors and from 27 to 30 for superintendents of police. They, however, complained that the procedure is long and costly. To Flora Camille Keugne, one of the candidates, online registration will enhance transparent results. Another FCFA 250 is slashed when confirming the online registration code as SMS fee, another candidate added. It is worth noting that registration ends on the 6th of February and 4,700 candidates will gain employment into the police corps in 2015.
