Senior Superintendent of Police, Mveng Amougou Michel, was buried in his home town in Nkol-Amougou on Saturday January 10, 2015.

It was a rather gloomy atmosphere at the National Advanced Police College in Yaounde on Thursday January 8, 2015. The event was a funeral ceremony to the Late Retired Senior Superintendent of Police, Mveng Amougou Michel. He died in Yaounde on December 5, 2014 after an illness.

The ceremony was presided by the Inspector general of Police, Senior Superintended of Police, Mvogo Jean Marie. Former colleagues, friends, relatives and sympathisers thronged the venue to pay their last homage to the retired soldier.

As the coffin was rolled around the courtyard of the Police High school by policemen of the same rank, sadness could be seen in the faces of relatives and sympathisers. Senior Superintended of Police, Mvogo Jean Marie, who represented the delegate General for National Security bowed before the casket as he bade farewell to his former college. The police band then played a sad note as the casket left the ceremonial grounds.

Born on August 8, 1931 in Nkol-Amougou in the Biwong-Bane Subdivision in the Centre Region, attended the Catholic Primary School at Abang-Ebolowa where he obtained his CEPE in 1943. After a short teaching career he joined the police corps in 1955. He occupied several posts of responsibility and held several posts of responsibility in the police force.

Mveng Amougou Michel retired in 1986 as the Director of the National Advanced Police College in Yaounde. He leaves behind a wife, several children and several grandchildren to mourn him. The mortal remains of the retired soldier were buried in his home town in Nkol-Amougou on Saturday January 10, 2015.
