Special Recruitment For Scientific Personnel

The announcement was made Friday by the Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation.

 

The Minister for Scientific Research and Innovation, Madeleine Tchuinte has told the scientific research and innovation family that while waiting for an overhaul of researchers’ statutes, the Head of State, Paul Biya has decided to prolong the activities of research directors who will soon attain retirement age. On the other hand, he also decided a special recruitment of scientific personnel and priority will be on research institutions. Madeleine Tchuinte broke the news that met with a standing ovation on Friday, January 16, 2015 in Yaounde during the ceremony to receive and wish happy 2015 to staff of the ministry and its satellite structures.

She challenged interested researchers to forward their requests for prolongation of their research activities through their different administrations latest January 24, 2015. She also urged General Managers and Directors of Structures under the ministry to show proof of their needs for researchers and technicians.

As concerns the constructions of the announced ministry’s flagship institution for innovation dubbed Institute for the Promotion of Science, Creativity, Innovation and Technology, IPSCIT, Mrs Tchuinte announced that the Government Delegate for the Yaounde City Council had endorsed plans to offer a piece of land for the construction of the institution which for now is lodged in the precincts of the University of Yaounde I. The project cost is estimated at FCFA 65 billion.
