Pampered Green Turf

The green turf of the Banapa stadium in Malabo is being catered for like an egg. Before every encounter, it is watered and any uprooted grass re-planted. At the half time interval, the stadium worked go back to do the same exercise and re-fill any dug up holes to make sure the pitch is always in a good state. The same care is taken of the entire complex. At the media centre, there is a team of Chinese technicians ready to intervene to solve any electricity or telecommunication hitch. Outside the stadium, people work round the clock cleaning the alleys, repainting or washing the edifice.

Video Analysts for Lions

In order to study the play style of the opponents during the ongoing AFCON in Equatorial Guinea, the coach of the Indomitable Lions, Volker Finke has hired the services of a video analyst. He does not only shoot pictures of opponents but also coordinates the video viewing sessions of the Lions and provides analyses.
