Only the legs of 85-year-old Pascal Tadjennang were affected by the fire in Bepanda-Douala.

Inhabitants of Bepanda neighbourhood in the Douala V municipality are still in shock after a mysterious fire killed 85-year-old Pascal Tadjennang in the night of February 15, 2015. According to reports from the 7^th District Police Station in Bepanda, only the victim’s legs and bed were consumed by fire.

“Not even the walls of the house nor the roofing sheets were affected by the fire,” an official said. Back at the scene, dwellers attribute Pascal’s death to witchcraft since the fire did not touch his entire body and burnt only valuables in the house. His corpse has been left at the Deido Hospital Mortuary.
