Eight people arrested last week at the Besseke neighbourhood in Bonaberi on charges of possession, sale and consumption of cocaine are being grilled at by police of the Central Police Station n°3 in Bonassama.

The said illicit drug addicts and merchants include Herve Landry Yempo Kom (32), Abdoulaye Haman (31), Herve Achile Ndjami Mbock (30), Lovell Nchang Che (29), Kenda Nkalle (25), Bienvenue Bibai (25), Anicette Matalla (22) and Lazard Ewane (17). They were picked up by a special team of the Rapid Intervention Unit on routine patrol in the area during the day. Acting on an informant’s tips, the security forces immediately invaded the hideout of the illicit drug dealers. After successfully caging the entire neighbourhood, all the eight suspects were arrested on the act as they were busy carrying out their illegal activities. They were caught with 49 packets of cocaine, and cannabis.
