Over 2,000 Youths Trained In Two Years

The figure was made public during EDEN’s third launch in Douala on March 4, 2015.

A group of young talented entrepreneurs, dubbed Entrepreneurship Development Educational Network (EDEN) based in Douala, are determined to contribute to Cameroon’s emergence by 2035 through the training of young people to create and better manage their companies.

Speaking at the launch on March 4, 2015, the President, Diane Ndeuna, said a well-developed economy was one whose citizens were totally involved in entrepreneurship; reason why they were committed to helping young people to put their talents to use.  Since 2013 that the enterprise opened its doors, she disclosed, it has trained over 2,000 youths in leadership and enterprise management, planning and project management, commercial negotiation and the drawing up of business plans.

According to Diane Ndeuna, most businesses crumble because of the lack of appropriate training and financial means. Thus, an entrepreneur has to have a vision, define his mission and involve social partners for a sustainable business. EDEN’s courses run from three hours to six months, depending on the training.
