War Against Boko Haram: North West CPDM Raises FCFA 80 Million

The circumstances   were special and mobilisation was total.

Prayers were at the centre of the event with Baptist Ministers of the church praying for unity of the nation in difficult times like these. The patriotism of Cameroonians featured prominently when Presbyterian Church Ministers joined the cue. Moslems appealed to Allah to showcase blessings for the nation’s defence and security forces as they remain steadfast in the battle against the extremist group. Solidarity was at the centre of prayers by Ministers of the Full Gospel ministry while Catholics prayed for peace, love and justice to reign supreme in Cameroon and its neighbouring countries. It was the Auxiliary Bishop of the Bamenda Archdiocese, Mgr. Agabitus Nfon who saluted the government’s courage in standing firm against Boko Haram.  The wisdom of King Solomon was the special prayer request by all for the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Paul Biya to continue to rise to expectation in the face of threats of social peace by the Boko Haram evil.



Virtually all who matter among North West CPDM elite were around at the Bamenda event. It was against this backdrop that the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang called for a minute of silence in the incalculable loses in the war against Boko Haram. The P.M revealed that the special prayer event was organised to share the sufferings of the Far North region. He urged all to embrace Psalms 23 as the gateway to eliminate Boko Haram. Forty eight hours ahead of the 30th anniversary of the CPDM party, Philemon Yang said the Bamenda event also offered a rare moment to celebrate military, economic, political, democratic and social achievements of the CPPDM in 30 years. He proudly announced that the killer Boko Haram has not succeeded to occupy even a square metre of Cameroon’s national territory.

In effect, the nation’s peace is threatened and CPDM Political Bureau member, Regina Mundi also saluted the North West for rising to expectation in support of war efforts against Boko Haram. She equally appreciated all who work to strengthen the CPDM and move the region to a position of maximum contributor and beneficiary of the nation’s emergence in 2035.The host Mezam I CPDM section President, Nji Paul Atanga also took time off to sound off the strength of the party which has taken firm root in the North West, its birth place.

Beyond prayers, about FCFA 80 million was raised and a ton of rice from UNVDA agro industry was handed to North West Governor by the Prime Minister for onward transmission to the defence forces at the war front.philemon-yang-money-war-boko-haram
