Mezam I section sound off that the party has taken firm roots in its birth place
It is 30 years since the Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement-CPDM party was launched in Bamenda. 30 years after the party has stood the test of time despite some challenges. As a result, the Mezam I section of the CPDM party was alive on March 24, 2015 when militants thronged the party hall with anniversary songs. Militants turn full circle with section president Atanga Nji Paul sounding off that at 30, the ruling party has taken firm roots in Bamenda its birth place and the North West region. Anniversary celebrations offered a rare moment for Mezam I militants to mobilize stand behind President Paul Biya commander- in-chief of the armed forces in fighting Boko Haram. Presiding celebrations at the Bamenda Congress hall, birth place hall of the party, Minister Atanga Nji Paul reminded militants that ever since creation the party has been in power, has majority of the seats in parliament and running most of the councils in the country. He said before now CPDM militants in Bamenda could not move and talk freely. He said today the party can boost of 18 councils and seven parliamentarians in the region. To these victorious, he said the party militants have every reason to celebrate and throw their weight behind their party chair Paul Biya. Member of the central committee delegation Prof Fru Angwafor was around to praise the militants for their steadfastness towards the party. He said with the fight against the insurgency of the Islamic sect Boko Haram that has been terrorizing the Far north of Cameroon for some time now militants should report people of doubtful character to the authorities. In a motion of support the militants promised to do their best to eradicate Boko Haram from the Cameroonian territory as they will support the military who are fighting in defense of our Country Cameroon. They paid tribute to the military and assured them that the population of Cameroon and the CPDM party is solidly behind them as they fight to defend Cameroon.
