20 New Vehicles For Police Stations

acquisition-nouvelles-voitures-policeThey were handed over by Governor Joseph Beti Assomo on April 13, 2015.

As part of the fight against crime wave, government, through the Delegate General for National Security, Mbarga Nguele, has offered 20 new vehicles to Public Security Police Stations in the economic capital and main port city, Douala.

Each Police Station received one Toyota Corolla saloon car during the ceremony presided by Littoral Regional Governor, Joseph Beti Assomo, in front of his office on April 13, 2015. Commissioners of Public Security Police Stations, to whom the vehicles were handed, were reminded that the objective was to boost efficiency.

In his address, the Littoral Regional Delegate for Public Security, Police Commissioner Raymond Essogo, warned against negligence and personal or family use of the cars, adding that such will be met with strict sanctions, including seizure. The vehicles are entitled to free fuelling at the Police Fuel Station at the Mobile Intervention Unit N°2 in Bonanjo, Douala.

Many think that with the provision, complaints of lack of fuel to respond promptly to emergencies, as has often been the case, will be a thing of the past. This is the third time in recent months that the police are given service vehicles. Earlier this year, the Regional Delegate of Public Security received a new Prado jeep and three trucks for transporting personnel. Also, five pick-up vans, 20 escort motorcycles and 200 bicycles, were part of the second acquisition for proximity policing in Douala.acquisition-nouvelles-voitures-police
