Police Strengthen Security Measures

Some 66 vehicles were donated to the central and regional services of the General Delegation of Police on Tuesday May 5, 2015. 


The General Delegation of National Security donated some 66 vehicles to the central and regional services of the national police corps yesterday May 5, 2015 in t Yaounde.  The vehicles were officially handed over the heads of the different services in a ceremony preside at by the Inspector General at the General Delegation for National Security in charge landed and non-Landed  Property, Police Commissioner Oyono née Thom Cecil.

Speaking at the occasion the Director of Finance and Logistics Police Commissioner Mbiongieri read the circular of the Delegate General for National Security which instructed the beneficiaries to handle the vehicles with care for all acts of negligence will not go unpunished. This was followed by the official handing over of the keys of the vehicles to the heads of the different heads of services by Police Commissioner Oyono née Thom Cecil. The 66 vehicles comprised of different brands notably Toyotta Fortuner, Toyotta Prodo, Toyotta Corolla and Toyotta Land Cruiser. The Toyotta Fotuners and Toyotta Prados are meant for Inspector Generals, and assistant directors who are expected to resent the Delegate General for National Security in any part of the country.

 Majority of the vehicles are destined to strengthen the fight against high crime wave and banditry in the country. There is also one special transmission vehicle which is unique in Cameroon. Also, through this donation, four central police stations have been equipped with vehicles. The ceremony also consecrated the three rapid intervention units in Kribi, Limbe and Mbalmayo.
