Bamenda Hosts Praise Banquet Against Boko Haram

It was an initiative of Mezam I CPDM Section that gathered different Church denominations from 8th to 10th May, 2015.

“Do not take God’s grace for granted”. That is how Mezam I CPDM Section President, Nji Paul Atanga summed up the three-day “All Bamenda Praise Banquet” that assembled different church denominations to thank God for His goodness and blessings for Cameroon. The event that ran from May 8th-10th, 2015 at the Bamenda Congress Hall sang, prayed and counted the blessings of the nation in the face of challenges staring the neighbouring countries and the world.

It was against this backdrop that Mezam I CPDM Section President, Minister Nji Paul Atanga, saluted the initiative which recognises and appreciates God’s grace on Cameroon with the peaceful resolution of the Cameroon/Nigeria border crises to show. It was unanimous at the event that prayers will eliminate the Boko Haram terrorist group rocking the Far North region. In effect, Minister Nji Paul Atanga prescribed efforts to sustain peace, unity and development in the face of terrorism.

It was all about gospel music, interspersed with ecumenical prayers by Muslims, Catholics, Baptists, Pentecostals etc. An exhortation by Rev Fr. Javes inspired respective Christians and Muslim communities to feel the spirit of thanksgiving and thank God for Cameroon, the land of promise, the land of glory. The event also featured Christians and choirs from virtually all the mainstream and Pentecostal churches in metropolitan Bamenda.
