Boko Haram: Ngoketunjia Donates Over FCFA 6 Million

Population and elites met on Friday, May 1, 2015 in Ndop to show unflinching support for Cameroon’s Defence Forces.

The people of Ngoketunjia Division in the North West Region met in Ndop on May 1, 2015 to join war efforts in raising funds to support the defence forces involved in the fight against the terrorist sect, Boko Haram.

The gesture initiated by the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, for Ngoketunjia, Kuella Valeri Norbert, brought together elites from the division such as  administrators, religious authorities, politicians and Fons, amongst others. The amount of FCFA 6,024,910 was raised to show their unflinching support to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Paul Biya, in his determination to fight terrorism in Cameroon. The amount was paid to the treasury, upon a receipt.

During the event, the  SDO for Ngoketunjia urged the elites to put hands on deck in the war efforts against the terrorist sect and to throw their weight behind the armed forces who are giving their lives to protect the nation’s territorial boundaries. He equally appreciated the efforts of the military that have ensured that not even a small parcel of Cameroonian territory is lost to Boko Haram.

He reminded all present that the same activity will be organised at Sub-divisional levels and the funds transmitted to Bamenda into the special account created by the Head of State. Moreover, the General Manager of Upper Noun Valley Development Authority, UNVDA, Chin Richard Wirnka was around to donate one tonne of rice.
