Police, Gendarmerie: Officers Receive Testimonials

The graduation ceremony of the 7th Enhancement Training Course for Second Level Operational Command Officers took place in Awae on May 8, 2015.

Some 17 police and gendarmerie officers from 14 African countries received their testimonials at the end of the 7th Enhancement Training Course for Second Level Operational Command Officers at the International School for Security Forces (EIFORCES) at the EIFORCES training centre in Awae on Friday May 8, 2015. The ceremony was presided at by the Deputy Director of EIFORCES, Police Commissioner Oyono née Thom Cecil who represented the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, President of the Board of Directors of EIFORCES Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o.

Speaking at the occasion, Police Commissioner, Oyono née Thom Cecil called on the trainees to put into practice the knowledge they have acquired in order to maintain peace and order in their respective countries and to better secure lives and property.  Out of the 17 trainees, two were women, one from Cameroon and one from Senegal. For three weeks the trainees were drilled on tactics of intervention such as the mastery of the adversary with or without weapons, international humanitarian law and peace keeping among others. The training aimed at strengthening the capacities of the trainees to be able to command security units at the national and international level according to internal standards.

The graduation ceremony took place in the presence of members of the diplomatic corps, officials of the Mefou and Afamba Division and top officials of the Police and the National Gendarmerie.
