This time around, both countries are seeking ways to boost parliamentary cooperation reason why a delegation made up of five Parliamentarians (two Senators and three Members of the French National Assembly) held a 45-minute working session with their Cameroonian counterparts at the Conference Hall of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency on the side-lines of the State visit of Françoise Holland to Cameroon.

On the Cameroonian side was Senator Peter Mafany Musonge, leader of the delegation and CPDM Group leader at the Senate, CPDM Parliamentary group leader at the National Assembly and President of the Cameroon-France Parliamentary Friendship Group, Hon. The head of the Cameroonians delegation also indicated that training and technical cooperation between the Houses of both countries were the major concerns that they discussed. The French delegation, he revealed, is ready for the cooperation deal.

Alain Marsaud on his part, described the relations between the two parliaments as “excellent” stating that they have received several members of the Cameroonian Parliament in Paris during which they shared experiences on how they make laws and check government actions. He affirmed that both Cameroon and French Parliaments have good practices that are being shared through the Cameroon-France Friendship Parliamentary Groups. Cameroonian Parliamentarians handed over souvenir gifts to their French counterparts after the meeting.
