CONAC Launches 8th Rapid Results Initiative

The progamme was officially launched yesterday July 16, 2015 in Yaounde.

The National Anti Corruption Commission (CONAC) is continuing its offensive in the fight against corruption in public and para-public institutions in the country. The eighth Rapid Results Initiative was launched yesterday July 16, 2015 in Yaounde by the Chairman of CONAC, Rev. Dr Dieudonné Massi Gams, in the presence of cabinet ministers and representatives of State corporations.

The Initiative is results-oriented and is aimed at scaling up the fight against the cankerworm with focus on stemming the scourge in the country’s public administration and corporations.  According to the Chairman of CONAC, the Rapid Results Initiative is a change-driven methodology to meet up with the difficulties inherent in the implementation of the National Strategy for the Fight against Corruption put in place in 2011.

The initiative is expected to produce palpable results within an average of 100 days across the over 50 public administrations and para-public structures earmarked.

Speaking on the outcome of the 7th series, Rev Dr. Massi Gams said the results are encouraging thanks to the engagement of political leaders. With these results, as was testified by some cabinet ministers like those in charge of Forestry and Wildlife, Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Women Empowerment and the Family as well as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Basic Education and other representatives during their presentations, the Chairman of CONAC, believes corruption is no longer fatal in the country.

The bane can be conquered provided more efforts and determination are put in not only by CONAC, but also by all and sundry. CONAC, he added, is available to provide technical expertise to the different anti-corruption units in the ministries and State corporations as well as in the private sector.
