2015 GCE Results: Douala Candidates Still In Suspense

Some schools in the Littoral Region are still to know their results.

Since the partial publication of results of the 2015 General Certificate of Education, GCE examinations, life has not been the same for candidates who are still awaiting their results. Many in Douala are in a trauma of suspense.

As candidates rushed to newsstands and their mobile phones to check results, only lucky ones found results of their centres. Those who did not find their centres were left in confusion and despair especially as the reasons for the absence were not stated. Some, as a result, went to inquire from their schools and the GCE Liaison Office in Bonaberi, Douala. Staff of the Liaison Office on their part had no information, nor result slips from the GCE Board until last week-end.

Candidates of the GCE Ordinary Level are the most affected, though the same saga is witnessed with certain centres of the Advanced Level. A support staff in the Wouri Divisional Delegation of Secondary Education, Ehoge Comfort, observed that results  slips should not be delayed by the Board Liaison Offices or schools for any reasons. She said they should be given freely to candidates once available to avoid further trauma. She advised stricter measures in order to prevent candidates paying money for the collection of their result slips as it has been the case in some schools in the past when students owed fees.
