The outgoing Turkish Ambassador to Cameroon, Omer Faruk Dogan was on Thursday September 2nd received in audience by the Minister of Sports and physical Education. Quizzed on the object of the visit, Omer Faruk Dogan said with Cameroon to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation, Turkish investors could help Cameroon in the construction of not only sports infrastructure like stadiums but also structures to accommodate the large number of people will be coming to the country for the event like hotels.
He disclosed that negotiations were underway to organize a friendly match between the Turkish national football team and Cameroon. Omer Faruk Dogan, who is drifting towards the end of his stay in Cameroon, said he had spent three years with joy in Cameroon and had time to visit all the ten Regions of the country and get acquainted with the culture of the Cameroonian people.
He said Turkey through the agency for cooperation and development, TICAD, is working on a project to construct structures to host youths in the country. He said the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education plays a great role in maintaining the unity of Cameroon and canalizing the youths towards emergence by 2035. He pledged to continue working to reinforce the good bilateral relations between Turkey and Cameroon.
