The Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training and the National Youth Council organised the selection examination on October 17, 2015 in Yaounde.

Some 110 candidates on October 17, 2015, in Yaounde sat the competitive entrance examination organised by the National Youth Council, NYC, for admission to some professional institutions in Cameroon. Out of the number, 100 successful candidates are to receive partial scholarships.  

Three subjects were written by the candidates: General Knowledge, Languages (English and French) and an oral session. The scripts will be corrected by a set of competent markers and the results published this week. The NYC in partnership with the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, MINEFOFP, aim at promoting the absorption of 1,000 youths by 2020 in various professional fields. These include customs and transit, logistics and transport, secretariat duties, Information and Communication Technology.

According to the NYC President, Jean Marc Afesi Mbafor, “Getting socially inserted is one of the major problems in Cameroon and we are trying to bring our contribution alongside what the government is doing for the youths.” The CSP social programme is expected to last five years at the end of which 1,000 youths would have been trained and offered jobs.
