The material was donated by the Cameroon chapter of the African Women Sports Reporters Union (AWUSR) on October 17, 2015, in Yaounde.

The atmosphere at the Roger Milla Foundation in Vieux Panier, Emombo, Yaounde, on October 17, 2015, was bright and festive after the light rain which seemed to be showers of blessings. The event was the donation of stationery to 100 female student Cameroonian athletes and their children. Each parcel contained exercise books, erasers, pencils and pens, amongst others.

The material, offered by the African Women Sports Reporters Union (AWUSR), is aimed at giving the students and their parents a modest support for 2015-2016 academic year. The presentation was made in the presence of Roving Ambassador His Excellency Roger Milla and Deputy General Manager of Bolloré Logistics Group, Philemon Alfred Mendo, both partners to AWUSR.

One of the beneficiaries, Suzanne Menye M’eto, an athlete, said she was very happy for the gifts. “The material will help my children in school till next year,” she added. AWUSR President, Priscille Ghislaine Moadougou, said it was important to encourage students. She added that her association was not out to take over the responsibilities of female athletes, but to support them in giving their children the right to quality education.
