The National Youth Steering Committee held in Fundong, Boyo Division from 23 to 25 October, 2015.
“Youth employment through vocational training” was the subject that assembled some 35 members of the NUDP National Youth Steering Committee for a conference in Fundong, Boyo Division from 23 to 25 October, 2015. The initiative by the National Youth President, Ndansi Elvis Nukam, drilled youths on the tools and opportunities to emerge.
The conference featured experts from several ministries with lessons on various training opportunities for youths, how to identify and develop skills for use and how to translate solutions into business ideas. The National Youth President, Ndansi Elvis, took time off during the conference to inspire the youths with explanations that employment opportunities abound but unemployment persists because youths lack the knowledge and skills required to gain or create jobs.
It was against this backdrop that the Vice President of the NUDP Central Committee, Achu Churchill Mandi, encouraged youths to rise to expectation and excel in nation building. He travelled to Fundong with the blessings of the hierarchy of the party which prescribes unity, freedom and justice for the emergence of Cameroon and their youths.
The conference also featured deliberations which stressed a hitch-free renewal of basic organs of the NUDP on course since 2013. An enlarged working session of the Youth Steering Committee also developed strategies to revamp party activities in Boyo where the party came close to sharing leadership of the Fundong council after the 2013 municipal elections.
It was a moment for the NUDP Federation President, Kombain Maurice Gama to sound off about NUDP’s frontline role in nation building. NUDP's Director of the National party Headquarters and conference Coordinator, Kuma Peter Kombain told Cameroon Tribune that curtains dropped on the event with the youths discovering the traditional and touristic attractions of the North West region.
