MLJC President, Tina Dieudonné, Is No More

He died on Sunday, December 27, 2015 after a protracted illness.

One of the players on Cameroon’s political scene, Tina Dieudonné, is no more. The President of the Movement for the Liberation of Cameroonian Youth better known under its French acronym, MLJC, died on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 6 am in Eseka, Nyong and Nkele Division of the Centre Region, following a protracted illness.

The politician is remembered for having refused all invitations by his peers to join the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, party. Rather, he invited militants of the Union des populations du Cameroun, UPC, to join the MLJC party when the then Secretary General of the UPC, Augustin Frederick Kodock pledged allegiance to President of the CPDM party, Paul Biya.

Created in 1995, the MLJC party under Tina Dieudonné’s stewardship counted reputed militants such as late Mayi Ma Matip, former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
