October 2 Cabinet Reshuffle Aftermath:Thanksgiving Service For Dieudonné Samba

His ENAM course mates organised an ecumenical mass on January 15, 2016 at the Mont Febe Benedictins Monastery Chapel in Yaounde.

The Special Adviser to the President of the Republic, Dieudonné Samba, on Friday, January 15, 2016, failed to hide his emotions while thanking God for blessings showered upon him and expressing gratitude to the Head of State, Paul Biya, for appointing him on October 2, 2015 as his close aide. This was during an ecumenical thanksgiving mass that was organised at the Mont Febe Benedictins Monastery chapel in Yaounde by his classmates of the 1997-1999 batch in General Administration of the National School of Administration and Magistracy, ENAM.

During the mass, Reverend Father Gérard Messi Malla used readings from I Samuel 8: 4-7 and 10-22 as well as Mark 2: 1-12 to interprete the meaning of  Dieudonne Samba’s appointment and asked God to protect him in his new delicate mission. In his turn, the Secretary General of the Council of Imams and Muslim Dignitaries (CIDIMUC), Cheikh Adamou Ngamie, implored Allah to enable Dieudonné Samba to serve the nation and strengthen his steps. Meanwhile, Cheikh Oumarou Malam Djibril, rejoiced over the thanksgiving service, quoting Allah from the Holy Quran as saying, “Each time you tell me Thank You, I give you my Grace”.

Before his appointment on October 2, 2015 as Special Adviser to the President of the Republic, Dieudonné Samba was Government Delegate to the Bertoua City Council in the East Region. Speaking on behalf his course mates, Jean Bessala Nsana, said they felt honoured because their batch had known several appointments but it was the first time one of theirs was lifted to such a high-profile function. He described Dieudonné Samba as a wise, simple and convivial man before advising the new Special Adviser to the President to consider difficulties and obstacles as advantages through which God’s blessings could be further showered upon him. The 1997-1999 ENAM General Administration batch also transmitted a motion of thanks and support to the Head of State for the “Great Gift made to the batch.” Prominent amongst guests at the service was the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Michel Ange Angouing.
