Workers and partners presented New Year wishes to the Minister of Public Health on Thursday, January 14, 2016.

The Minister of Public Health, André Mama Fouda, received best wishes for 2016 from staff as well as partners and institutions under his ministry on Thursday, January 14, 2015 in Yaounde. The ceremony was an opportunity to revisit the activities of last year and plan for the New Year.

Speaking at the occasion, the Secretary General in the Ministry of Public Health, Professor Koula Shiro Sinata, gave an exhaustive balance sheet of activities in 2015 and projects for 2016. These include the implementation of the Triennial Emergency Plan of Action, preparations for the African Cup of Nations 2016 and 2019, and implementation of the new Health Sector Strategy 2016-2027.

Others are the strengthening of surveillance against epidemics and the health information system, notably through the putting in place of the District Health Information Software (DHIS), universal health coverage and strengthening community participation. National decorations and labour medals were awarded to some workers for commendable services rendered. The event took place in the presence of representatives of international organisations, partners and guests.
