JCI To Promote Youth Entrepreneurship

The organisation intends to organise entrepreneurship academy, start-up competitions and small business development Expo to empower youth.

The 2016 executive bureau of Junior Chamber International (JCI) has resolved to boost youth participation in nation building by empowering the Cameroonian youth in entrepreneurship. The new executive led by Laye Mbunkur says the vision for the organisation in 2016 is to create enabling environment that will foster growth, encourage JCI’s participation in nation building while promoting the values and principles of the organisation.

As part of their contribution to nation building, JCI intends to effectively empower and mobilise youths towards the realisation of Cameroon’s development agenda of Vision 2035. To achieve this, the Laye Mbunkur-led executive intends to organise active citizens’ academy in ten towns and a youth partnership summit in 2016. Entrepreneurship academy, start-up competition and small business expo are also earmarked in 2016 to empower youths for self employment. The global youth organisation according to the National President, also plans to strengthen business relations with neighbouring Nigeria which is Africa’s leading economy through Cameroon-Nigeria business Exchange Forum in October 2016.
