The Electoral Board met yesterday in Yaounde in its first ordinary session for 2016 under the auspices of Chairman, Dr. Samuel Fonkam Azu’u.

Members of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) yesterday January 21, 2016 met at the Yaounde Mont Febe Hotel for the first ordinary session of the year. The board meeting chaired by the Chairman of the Electoral Board, Dr. Samuel Fonkam Azu’u, held behind closed-doors with the examination of activity report and the administrative and management accounts for 2014 on the agenda.

Yesterday’s ELECAM Board meeting attended by the Director General of Elections also provided an opportunity for members to examine modalities for the putting in place of a follow-up committee for the implementation of the recommendations of the consultation meetings held with different stakeholders. Board members, CT learnt, also examined the adjustment on the 2016 budget with focus on the special allocation for the electoral board. Dr Fonkam Azu’u and his team also assessed the recent nationwide field tour of Board members and the Director General of Elections which was aimed at raising awareness for the revision of the electoral list for 2016 which kicked off on January 2, 2016 nationwide.
